Stage 1 Wastewater Pumpstations, and Rising Main to Te Puke Wastewater Treatment Plant

Papa Projects Role:
Engineer’s Representative, constructability review, stakeholder management, tender management, contract administration (NZS 3910:2013), including claims, variations, programme management, construction delivery, value management and safety and environmental coordination.

Delivery Environment:
Complex brownfield environment with live traffic management, multiple stakeholders, private land access, environmental constraints, and a tightly controlled programme.

Project Overview:
A $10M–$20M wastewater infrastructure project comprising:

  • Construction of two FRP wastewater pump stations with associated storage tanks

  • Construction of a maintenance building

  • Installation of 6+ km of 315 OD PE wastewater rising main

The rising main was constructed through live urban roads, directional drilling beneath the Kaituna River and Waiari Stream, and through easements across private farmland and orchard properties.

All works were completed in accordance with the Western Bay of Plenty District Council (WBOPDC) Development Code.
